Year of the Rabbit Throwbacks – New Island signs the ESG Pledge Scheme

New Island joins the ESG Pledge Scheme 2023 to show the determination of acceptance, implementation and promotion of the sustainable development and promise to plan and launch the related action plans.

To raise the importance of the concept and practice of sustainable development in Hong Kong’s business community, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA) launched the “ESG+ Programme to encourage all business sectors to sign the “ESG Pledge”. The ESG Pledge Scheme is aimed at strengthening the concern of sustainable development by encouraging businesses to implement action plans to improve the ESG (Environmental, social and governance) performance, thus building a sustainable environment in future.

By Joining ESG Pledge Scheme, participants of the scheme have pledged to demonstrate the determination to supporting sustainable development and build up an image of ESG pioneer. They can also gain support and learn the experience from planning and implementation solutions from by The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Brand Development Council (such as promotion program, training, technical advice, auditing and certification, public education, brand building, company networking etc.)

The ESG Pledge Scheme Certificate Presentation Ceremony 2023 took place on December 4th, 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The welcoming speech as delivered by President of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, Dr. Allen Shi SBD, BBS, MH, JP,. Followed by guest speaker Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Dr. Bernard Chan Pak-li JP.
