On 22nd March, New Island welcomes a group of students and their Professors from University of Oklahoma, Price College of Business to visit our Dongguan Factory. These MBA students participated in a study abroad trip coming to Asia visiting Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Guangdong China.
Throughout the day, students were shown the company introduction video giving them a clear message of why packaging is so important to the retail industry. Packaging plays a very strong role in differentiating between competing products, branding, communication and engaging end users etc. Students also learnt that behind the beauty of our boxes, there is a long and detailed process flow that involves a lot of strict controlling, testing, technical know-how, creativity and specialization to produce the end product.
Entering our showroom, the group was amazed at the large number of familiar brands displayed. Their very bright observation discovered a very good example to from their studies in International Business, where one product could have different versions, in different languages to cater for different markets.
During the plant tour, we introduced the GMP and BRC workshops, unfortunately visitors were only able to view from the outside, but most importantly student’s learnt to appreciate the strict hygiene controls that are in place to ensure the safety of foods.
During Q&A, many intelligent questions were asked. We were very pleased to know that students were very enthusiastic to learn more about our company and about our operations. We are very honored to have the opportunity to show our factory and to have such lovely visitors. New Island wishes them all the success in their studies and their future careers.
