2022 is a recovery year. Despite the many global events fluctuating our economies, New Island sales and businesses are steady and strong. Our orders and deliveries are gradually recovering to pre-pandemic volumes. We’re glad to see travel and retail markets returning strongly and with good news, our borders to Mainland China will soon be open in progressive stages.  During this period we have been working on new products and are very excited to introduce them in 2023.

We are blessed to have family, friends, business partners, supporting customers and suppliers who stood by us throughout this period. Nothing gives us more joy than to work with you and achieve greatness together. Let us embrace what we have gained in 2022 and welcome new opportunities in 2023.

2022 is New Island’s fourth year in supporting the Pink Revolution initiative of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. With the global pandemic recovery, we are most reminded that prevention is always effective in guarding our health. Not only should we keep clean, have regular exercise, rest well and eat well but always self-assess for any signs of discomfort. “Be Smart. Self-Check” is the important message we want to express to women around us. New Island is proud to once again be a part of this initiative. We fully support and in our way and show love towards women touched by breast cancer.

 

On Friday 21st October, all staff were dressed in beautiful PINK and took part in our pink decorated games corner. We selected retro childhood games that encouraged exercise and teamwork, whilst on the other hand bringing back some playful memories from the past. This year we also included an activity for our staff to take PINK photos that are meaningful to them or feel representative of Hong Kong under the theme “ME AND MY PINK HONG KONG”. The pink photos represent the love and vitality of Hong Kong with support all around. Some highlights in the pictures include Ocean Park, art in K11 Musea, Portland Street Rest Garden, Pet Street in Mong Kok, a dance performance in the historical Sunbeam Theatre and pop-up displays in shopping malls around Hong Kong. We also brought our message to our overseas offices, because we believe that love has no boundaries.

 

Yearly we invite our sales teams to showcase their proud pink products at the party so staff from other departments can also appreciate them. We were very glad to see the outstanding packaging items that we have done for our clients in the previous year. We also encourage our staff to take selfies with our products and share them on social media to raise breast cancer awareness. The Cancer Fund’s Pink Revolution is a breast cancer education and fundraising campaign that runs yearly in October for a duration of one month. This campaign highlights the importance of breast awareness and encourages women to “Be Smart. Self-Check” for early signs of breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and ranks 3^rd leading causes amongst cancer related deaths for women in Hong Kong. One in fourteen women in Hong Kong are at risk of developing breast cancer. The Cancer Fund offers unique services that aims to help breast cancer patients and their families through the cancer journey from diagnosis, recover treatment and rehabilitation services. There are also free programs and services such as hotline, counselling services, peer-support and recovery packs for women undergoing breast cancer surgery.
